Soccer Game Preview: Sale Creek vs. Marion County

The Sale Creek Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Marion County Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marion County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sale Creek, who comes in off a win.

Sale Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Varsity Opponent a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Sale Creek, who have now won three contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Joel Garcia and Jack McEwan scored all three of Sale Creek's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, Marion County was not able to break out of their rough patch on April 1st as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Chattanooga Prep, falling 9-0.

Marion County's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Sale Creek, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4-1 record.

Sale Creek suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Marion County in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
