Middleton faced Monona Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Silver Eagles. Considering Middleton have won six matchups by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Middleton's third in a row) raised their record to 13-2-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three games. As for Monona Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5-1.

Middleton and Monona Grove are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Cardinals will challenge Beloit Memorial on Tuesday. Middleton will be up against Beloit Memorial's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.69 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Monona Grove, they will square off against Sun Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
