Football Game Preview: Savio Eagles vs. St. Michael's Warriors

The Savio Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Michael's Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Savio comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Friday, Savio took a blow against Concordia Lutheran, falling 53-8. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 45 points.

St. Michael's might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 31-23 to Central Catholic, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Savio will have to keep a close watch on Ian Quinn and Nico Anderson, a pair of players who had a big impact on St. Michael's prior game. Quinn rushed for 88 yards and one score, while Anderson threw for 209 yards and one TD. Pierce Kovacs got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Savio's record now sits at 0-8. As for St. Michael's, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Savio might still be hurting after the 44-20 defeat they got from St. Michael's in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Anderson, who threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.3 yards per attempt, and also punched in one rushing score.
