Baseball Recap: Booneville Wins Going Away Against Belmont

Booneville won against Belmont on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Booneville put the hurt on Belmont with a sharp 11-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Clark Janzen made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since March 3rd. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colin Flurry, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since March 3rd. Another player making a difference was Porter Tapp, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Booneville and bumps their season record up to 7-13. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Belmont, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Booneville will have a chance to go back-to-back against Belmont: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
