Recap: Arp Tigers vs. Troup Tigers

The Arp Tigers were the 31-24 winner over the Troup Tigers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Arp's rough 51-27 defeat to Troup on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Arp can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1273rd, while Troup is ranked 508th).

Arp's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Carpenter, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Birdsong, who scored four points along with three steals.

Arp bumped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.3 points per game. As for Troup, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Arp will be home for the holidays to greet Elysian Fields at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Troup, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
