Baseball Game Preview: Tooele Buffaloes vs. Farmington Phoenix

The Tooele Buffaloes will venture away from home to square off against the Farmington Phoenix at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tooele is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They fell 6-3 to Manti.

Ethan Jenkins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Tooele was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manti only posted a batting average of .250.

Meanwhile, Farmington fell victim to Bingham and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Miners, falling 16-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Phoenix in their meetings with the Miners: they've now lost four in a row.

Farmington also got a good showing from Ty Runyan, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Tooele's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
