Basketball Recap: Louisburg Takes a Loss

Louisburg lost against Warren County back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Louisburg Warriors took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warren County Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Eagles are ranked 205th).

Despite the loss, Louisburg still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Alexander, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds. That's the most rebounds Alexander has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Justin Harrison, who put up five points and five rebounds.

Nazir Shaw was the offensive standout of the game as he earned 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalil Townsend, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points.

Louisburg is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. As for Warren County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Louisburg and J.F. Webb will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. J.F. Webb is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.7 points per game this season. Warren County will take on Vance County in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
