Baseball Recap: Etna Extends Home Winning Streak to 14

Etna never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Fall River Bulldogs as they made off with a 23-0 win. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Kyle Fowle and Emmitt Griggs made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Fowle struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Griggs pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Fowle went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Griggs went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Fowle a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chance Perez was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Hubbard, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Etna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .658. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Etna pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.1 runs. As for Fall River, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Etna beat the Bulldogs by a score of 15-1 later that day.
