Football Game Preview: Petal Panthers vs. Pearl Pirates + How To Watch

The Petal Panthers will face off against the Pearl Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Petal will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Petal is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Brandon, who was ranked 12th at the time (Petal was ranked sixth). The Panthers secured a 27-21 W over the Bulldogs on Friday. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since October 8, 2020.

Meanwhile, Pearl was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 33-29 to Northwest Rankin. The Pirates have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Pearl's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Petal, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Petal didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Pearl in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 21-17 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
