Baseball Recap: Fairview's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fairview came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Clearview Clippers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2022.

Brady Weir made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Weir was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Dylan Sather was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Patrick Canfield also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Fairview's record is now 4-2. As for Clearview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview will square off against North Olmsted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clearview, they will challenge Oberlin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
