Football Game Preview: Leake County Gators vs. Bogue Chitto Bobcats + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Mashawn Leflore and Jayden Poole are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Leake County Gators will challenge the Bogue Chitto Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Leake County comes in on five and Bogue Chitto on seven.

Leake County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Shaw 34-0. Considering the Gators have won six contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Davion Townsend, who rushed for 105 yards and two TDs on only six carries, and also threw for 113 yards and one touchdown. He has become a key player for Leake County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise. Zechariah Washington helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Leake County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. They are 6-2 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Bogue Chitto beat Richton 40-32 on Friday.

One reason for the win was Bogue Chitto's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Richton's QB won't forget Javis Gibson anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Leake County now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Bogue Chitto, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Leake County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 287.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bogue Chitto struggles in that department as they've been averaging 235.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
