Softball Recap: Thomaston Takes a Loss

Thomaston lost against Nonnewaug on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bears took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs.

Thomaston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackie Phillips, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Aylin Lahey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Thomaston's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Nonnewaug, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Thomaston is set to square off against their familiar foe Shepaug Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Nonnewaug will take on rival Northwestern Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chiefs 1.5, the Highlanders 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
