If St. Francis beats Palma with three runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Sharks beat Pacific Grove on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Breakers: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Palma fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Monterey on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dores by a score of 12-11. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Chieftains, who until this contest were averaging 3.13 runs allowed.

Damian Ybarra led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Alan Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

St. Francis now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Palma, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-6.
