Softball Recap: Brown County Takes a Loss

Brown County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Austin on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Austin by a score of 8-7. Brown County's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Maelyn Bowling made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season.

Brown County now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Austin, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Brown County has already played their next contest, an 18-1 defeat against Edgewood on the 22nd. As for Austin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-5 loss against South Central on the 19th.
