Hackett Catholic Prep came out on top against Allegan on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Fighting Irish walked away with a 10-5 win over the Tigers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 23-15 win on Friday.

Avery Doerr made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Doerr was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Doerr wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Doran, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another was Alexa Rosell, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Hackett Catholic Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Hackett Catholic Prep and bumps their season record up to 3-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Allegan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Hackett Catholic Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
