Soccer Recap: Beverly Extends Winning Streak to Three

Beverly proved they can win big on Monday (they won by five) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Marblehead Magicians. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in September.

The victory (which was Beverly's third in a row) raised their record to 14-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Marblehead, they moved to 10-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Beverly and Marblehead should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Panthers (ranked third) will meet Peabody Veterans Memorial (ranked 242nd) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Marblehead will face off against Danvers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 94).
