Basketball Recap: Brandon Ewing Key Part of Team Effort in Bison Win

Flatirons Academy won the last time they faced Front Range Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Flatirons Academy Bison strolled past the Front Range Christian Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 73-59. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bison.

Flatirons Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Ewing out in front who went 7-for-15 to rack up 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. The dominant performance gave Ewing a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Schulz, who went 6-for-7 en route to 17 points and seven boards.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Gold, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Gold also grabbed three steals, which is notable because Front Range Christian is 2-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 6-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zach Woo, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 15 points and five boards.

Flatirons Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Front Range Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Flatirons Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 86-13 victory against Kiowa on the 22nd. Front Range Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
