Basketball Recap: Santee's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After a string of three wins, Santee's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 65-45 to the Osceola Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since December 18, 2024.

Despite the loss, Santee still got an impressive performance from Christian Torrez, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. Torrez has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Yellow Cloud, who posted two points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

Kelby Neujahr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Osceola, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Neujahr a new career-high in rebounds. Boston Hinkle was another key player, going 7 for 14 on his way to 18 points.

Santee's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-5. As for Osceola, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santee will challenge Marty Indian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Santee is facing Marty Indian at the right time seeing as Marty Indian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Osceola, they will face off against McCool Junction at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
