Recap: College Park Falcons vs. Acalanes Dons
Even though the College Park Falcons have not done well against the Acalanes Dons recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. College Park came out on top against the Dons by a score of 69-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
College Park was led to victory by Connor Whittles and Miles Smith. Whittles scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Smith scored 34 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Wray, who scored eight points.
Acalanes lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brady Quinn, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Brown, who scored 12 points.
College Park has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season. As for Acalanes, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. College Park will square off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Las Lomas and the Falcons are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Acalanes, they will head out on the road to take on the Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northgate presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Dons in California (the Broncos are ranked 201st, while the Dons are ranked 478th).
