Soccer Game Preview: Wekiva vs. Pine Ridge

The Wekiva Mustangs will head out to square off against the Pine Ridge Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Wekiva's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wekiva fell victim to Foundation Academy and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Lions , falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Lions are ranked 173rd).

Meanwhile, while the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Pine Ridge who was credited with the win on Friday. Pine Ridge got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Mainland's two. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Wekiva's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Pine Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5-1.
