Southern's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Keyser Golden Tornado 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since October 7, 2024.

Southern had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-15, 15-1.

The victory got Southern back to even at 4-4-1. As for Keyser, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern will welcome Allegany at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Keyser, they will square off against Moorefield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
