Baseball Game Preview: West Ranch Wildcats vs. Saugus Centurions

For the second straight game, West Ranch will face off against Saugus. West Ranch will venture away from home to take on Saugus at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Ranch has four straight victories, Saugus has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

West Ranch's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Saugus by a score of 4-0.

Not much got past Hunter Manning, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Saugus off the board. That's the most strikeouts Manning has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Omar Gutierrez was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mikey Murr, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

West Ranch's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Saugus, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
