For the first time this season, Maple Mountain will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Wasatch Wasps at 3:30 p.m. Maple Mountain will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Maple Mountain barely beat Orem the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Maple Mountain's way against Orem on Tuesday as Maple Mountain made off with a 16-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kyla Donegan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off ten hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Maple Mountain let McClain Carter and Bella Ekenstam run wild. Carter went 4-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Ekenstam scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Those four hits gave Carter a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chelsie Carter, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.
Maple Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .465. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .465 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Wasatch was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to South Summit. The Wasps have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.
Wasatch saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liana Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Maple Mountain's record is now 6-1. As for Wasatch, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Maple Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .417. However, it's not like Wasatch struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Maple Mountain's way against Wasatch in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Maple Mountain made off with a 15-0 win. Will Maple Mountain repeat their success, or does Wasatch have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
