Basketball Recap: Palisades' Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After losing to Olympic the last time they met, Palisades decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Palisades Pumas managed a 46-42 victory over the Olympic Trojans on Tuesday.

Palisades' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Estelle Macho, who posted ten points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Tynilla Simpkins, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Palisades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Olympic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Arianna Shaw, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 11 points. Shaw is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chaya James, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Palisades' victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12. As for Olympic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Palisades didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-39 defeat against Chambers on the 5th. Olympic has also already played their next game (against Myers Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
