Football Recap: Brookhaven Piles Up the Points Against Northeast Jones

With a playoff win on the line, Brookhaven rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Northeast Jones Tigers 55-6. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jaden Allen produced another solid effort rushing for 132 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 159 yards and three TDs on only eight passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Caiden Quarles was another key player, gaining 120 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brookhaven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Brookhaven pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average over those games. As for Northeast Jones, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Brookhaven will welcome Wayne County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeast Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
