Basketball Recap: Community Christian Piles Up the Points Against Abundant Life Christian Academy

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Community Christian on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Abundant Life Christian Academy Lions out of the water with a 78-40 final score. The Knights pushed the score to 66-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had no chance of recovering from.

Community Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zion Johnson out in front who posted 23 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Bethea, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards.

Community Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Community Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Konos Academy at 8:30 p.m. on December 2. The Knights will be up against the Condor's rather soft defense (which has allowed 72.88 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Abundant Life Christian Academy will be paying especially close attention to Community Christian's contest: after Community Christian faces off against Lafayette Christian, they'll take on Abundant Life Christian Academy again at 7:30 p.m. on December 15.
