Basketball Recap: Northeast Falls Despite Big Games from Justyn Taylor and Tavarus Tinsley Jr

Northeast suffered their closest loss since January 19, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Jefferson County Warriors by a score of 46-43. The Raiders' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Northeast's loss came despite strong showings from Tavarus Tinsley Jr and Justyn Taylor. Tinsley Jr posted ten points and five boards, while Taylor put up 11 points and three steals. That's the most steals Taylor has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Thorpe, who had eight points.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Jefferson County, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14.

Northeast has already played their next matchup, a 51-41 defeat against Jasper County on the 18th. As for Jefferson County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-48 loss against Swainsboro on the 18th.
