Basketball Recap: Highlands Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After only 17 points in their last matchup, Highlands made sure to put some points up on the board against Summit Charter on Friday. The Highlands Highlanders took down the Summit Charter Bears 55-41. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 77-34 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Summit Charter still got an impressive performance from Chance Wilson, who posted 18 points and four steals. That was a full 43.9% of Summit Charter's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Frankie Marquina, who scored eight points and nine boards.

Highlands' win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for Summit Charter, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Highlands has already played their next contest, a 59-50 loss against Swain County on the 27th. As for Summit Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-47 victory against Shining Rock Classical Academy on the 30th.
