Softball Recap: Milan Takes a Loss

Milan couldn't beat Ripley on Saturday even though they stacked five runs on them in the first inning. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Camryn Green was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double.

In other batting news, Maycee Masters was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Grace Webb was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Milan has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-9 record this season. As for Ripley, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-9-1.

As of now, neither Milan nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
