Basketball Recap: Sabetha Takes a Loss

Sabetha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Labette County Grizzlies. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Labette County found their leader in freshman Paityn Davis, who posted 11 points and six steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Jacky Shull was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Sabetha's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-1. As for Labette County, their record is now 4-8.

Sabetha has already played their next game (against Riverside [Wathena/Elwood]), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Labette County, they have also already played their next contest, a 66-47 loss against Ottawa on the 23rd.
