Basketball Recap: Desert Hills Comes Up Short

On Thursday, Desert Hills faced Snow Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Desert Hills Thunder were outmatched by the Snow Canyon Warriors and fell 56-25. The contest marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Snow Canyon had a senior duo take command as Joey Jensen went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points along with six boards and six steals and Olivia Hamlin posted 25 points and seven steals. Hamlin's evening made it 44 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Falynn Randall, who scored three points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Desert Hills' loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Snow Canyon, the win keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Hills will challenge Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine View knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Desert Hills likes a good challenge. Snow Canyon has already played their next match (against Crimson Cliffs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
