Baseball Recap: Alden-Hebron Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Alden-Hebron can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Faith Christian Falcons with a sharp 17-8 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Green Giants considering their two-run performance the game before.

Hoyt Miles was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Alden-Hebron's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 1-12 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Christian Nunez was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Wyatt Armbrust was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Alden-Hebron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Alden-Hebron's victory bumped their record up to 5-14.

Looking ahead, Alden-Hebron is taking a road trip to take on Westminster Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Green Giants surely won't give up without a fight. Faith Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
