Softball Recap: Eastlake Titans vs. Imperial Tigers
Eastlake lost against Imperial back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eastlake Titans lost 11-2 to the Imperial Tigers.
Jaelene Jenkins and Mackenzie Olshenskie did some serious damage despite the final result: Jenkins went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double, while Olshenskie scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
On Imperial's side, Jayden Rutledge was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Rutledge has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Rutledge was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Raegan Ray was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, a triple, and a run. Clarissa Davila was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Eastlake's loss dropped their record down to 21-12. As for Imperial, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 27-3-1.
