Recap: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. Concord Spiders

The Central Cabarrus Vikings put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Concord 83-50 at home. Considering Central Cabarrus has won 13 contests by more than 20 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Central Cabarrus' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Desmond Kent Jr., who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The match was Kent Jr.'s 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Dalton, who scored 21 points.

Despite the loss, Concord still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Howard, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The game was Howard's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Jaden Reid was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Central Cabarrus pushed their record up to 14-0 with that victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.0 points per game. As for Concord, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Cabarrus will take on Lake Norman Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Norman Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Central Cabarrus likes a good challenge. As for Concord, they will head out on the road to face off against Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Robinson is ranked 170th, while Concord is ranked 183rd).
