Basketball Game Preview: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors vs. Rockmart Yellowjackets

The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors will square off against the Rockmart Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rockmart took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, who comes in off a win.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to North Murray for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-28 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-16.

Meanwhile, Rockmart played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 58-27 loss at the hands of Union County. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Rockmart, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe was able to grind out a solid victory over Rockmart when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 53-42. Will Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe repeat their success, or does Rockmart have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
