Volleyball Recap: George School Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

George School had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Perkiomen School Panthers on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13, 25-13.

Perkiomen School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maria Martinez led the charge by getting eight aces and one assist. Those eight aces gave Martinez a new career-high.

The win (which was Perkiomen School's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3-1.

Coming up, George School will challenge Blair Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Perkiomen School, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Springside Chestnut Hill Academy on the 12th.
