Softball Game Preview: Cimarron-Memorial Spartans vs. Legacy Longhorns

The Cimarron-Memorial Spartans will square off against the Legacy Longhorns at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cimarron-Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

Cimarron-Memorial is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Rancho just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 4-3.

Taylor Ramos was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two triples and two runs.

Meanwhile, Legacy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Chargers as they made off with a 9-1 win. Considering the Longhorns have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Legacy pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cimarron-Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
