Baseball Recap: Bridge Creek Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It was a proper cat-fight when Bridge Creek took on Pauls Valley on Tuesday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Panthers. The Bobcats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 17th.

Rylan Johns tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Bridge Creek is 3-1 when Johns allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Ryan Russell was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Ethan Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Bridge Creek's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Pauls Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Bridge Creek will square off against Cache at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pauls Valley, they will take on Byng at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
