Baseball Recap: Griswold Takes a Loss

Griswold dropped their record down to 3-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 12-2 to the East Lyme Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered since April 6, 2024.

As for East Lyme, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5th (when they won 14-3).

For East Lyme's part, they got a great performance from Andrew Sevigney as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Sevigney has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Garrison Biggs was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since April 1st. Silas Angelico also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Griswold will take on Harvard Ellis Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Lyme, they will challenge South Windsor at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
