Softball Game Preview: Westminster Owls vs. McDonogh Eagles

The Westminster Owls will venture away from home to challenge the McDonogh Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westminster has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Wednesday, Westminster came up short against South Carroll and fell 15-11.

Brianna Witter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Alyssa Ward also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for McDonogh, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over John Carroll on Thursday.

McDonogh's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Westminster, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
