Recap: Yorktown Tigers vs. Wes-Del Warriors
The Yorktown Tigers won the last time they faced the Wes-Del Warriors, and things went their way on Thursday too. Yorktown breezed by Wes-Del at home to the tune of 44-8. With Yorktown ahead 26-1 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Leading Yorktown to victory were Lilly Sylvester and Jayde Garrett. Sylvester scored eight points along with three steals, while Garrett dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Addy Barnes, who scored seven points.
Yorktown's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. As for Wes-Del, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yorktown will square off against Frankton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wes-Del, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern Wells at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
