Lafayette barely beat East Jessamine the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Lafayette blew past East Jessamine 17-8 on Saturday. The Generals' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Rylan Music made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Music was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Addison Combs and Anna Clay Denton did most of the damage at the plate: Combs fired off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 3-for-3, while Denton went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those two home runs gave Combs a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brynna Harris, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Lafayette was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Jessamine only posted a batting average of .350.

Lafayette's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.0 runs this season. As for East Jessamine, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will venture away from home to take on Paul Laurence Dunbar at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Jessamine, they will head out to face off against Western Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
