Volleyball Game Preview: DSST: College View Wolves vs. George Washington Patriots

The DSST: College View Wolves will venture away from home to take on the George Washington Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

DSST: College View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Regis Groff, who was ranked ninth at the time (DSST: College View was ranked 22nd). The Wolves fell just short of the Fusion by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

DSST: College View took Regis Groff into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-13.

Despite their defeat, DSST: College View saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Santiago Gonzalez, who had 25 digs, was perhaps the best of all. Gonzalez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last 12 games he's played.

Meanwhile, George Washington posted their closest victory since February 27th on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Hinkley. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (99-97) George Washington actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-20, 12-25, 15-10.

DSST: College View's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for George Washington, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
