Basketball Recap: Octorara Area Braves vs. Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers
While the Octorara Area Braves couldn't quite beat the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 20-point loss they were dealt last Tuesday. Octorara Area fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Octorara Area has suffered against the Pioneers since January 16, 2016.
Lampeter-Strasburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Justin Glick out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Chase Smucker was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Octorara Area and nudges their season record down to 15-4. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Octorara Area will head out on the road to face off against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Lebanon County will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Spartans at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Wyomissing has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 210 points over their last three matchups.
