Southview extends home losing streak to five

Recap: Southview Cougars vs. Springfield Blue Devils
The Southview Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. Their tough 37-14 defeat to Springfield might stick with them for a while. Southview was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Springfield apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Southview's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mikayla Dorn, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds, and Alyssa Shinaver who scored no points.
Southview's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.4 points per game. As for Springfield, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southview will face off against Lima Senior at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Springfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Clay at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
