Baseball Recap: Union Makes It Four in a Row at Home

While Union's victory against Sebastopol wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellowjackets had just enough and edged out the Bobcats 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Yellowjackets have posted since March 3rd.

Austin Lee was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rafe Manning, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Union's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Sebastopol, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-7.

Coming up, Union will square off against Leake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sebastopol, they will challenge Puckett at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
