Softball Recap: Higley's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Queen Creek, Higley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the ALA - Queen Creek Patriots, sneaking past 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Skylar Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Samantha Parisi, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Babcock, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Higley picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 6-12-1. As for ALA - Queen Creek, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Higley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 24-5 defeat against Pinnacle on the 31st. As for ALA - Queen Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-3 loss against Eastmark on the 31st.
