Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Coronado

Coronado took a 29-point loss the last time they faced off against Pueblo County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Hornets 10-7. The ten-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

One reason for the win was Coronado's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Pueblo County's QB won't forget Josh Lysne anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Lysne is becoming a predictor of Coronado's success: when he posts at least one sack the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

The victory was the third in a row for Coronado, bringing their record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.7 points on average over those games. As for Pueblo County, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
