Basketball Recap: Nike Wiggins Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pungo Christian Academy

After only 30 points in their last contest, Lawrence Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against Pungo Christian Academy on Wednesday. The Lawrence Academy Warriors secured a 57-51 W over the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 68-50 win last Wednesday.

Lawrence Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nike Wiggins out in front who posted 22 points and seven boards. Ben Woodard was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 18 rebounds.

Lawrence Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Lawrence Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Lawrence Academy has already played their next match, a 72-66 defeat against Ridgecroft on the 7th. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-46 loss against Friendship Christian on the 11th.
