Football Recap: St. John Bosco Falls Short of Orange Lutheran in the Playoffs + How To Watch

St. John Bosco and Orange Lutheran squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but St. John Bosco had to settle for second. They and the Lancers were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 20-19 loss. The Braves have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

St. John Bosco's loss came despite strong showings from Maliq Allen and Corey Hinton. Allen rushed for 95 yards on only 11 carries, while Hinton rushed for 53 yards and one score.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orange Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sean Morris Jr, who rushed for 121 yards. Morris Jr is becoming a predictor of the Lancers' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).

St. John Bosco's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Orange Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

St. John Bosco does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orange Lutheran, they will challenge Santa Margarita at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so the Lancers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
